a) Did you type the e-mail address correctly?
The simplest answer to bounced e-mail is that there is a typographical error in the e-mail address to which you are trying to send email to. Please verify that you are typing the correct e-mail address. If you are unsure of the correct e-mail, please contact your Windy City Wire sales representative and ask him/her to provide it to you.
b) Did you get a reply stating that the recipient mailbox is unavailable and you know that you typed the correct e-mail address?
Windy City Wire employs software that automatically filters out e-mail sent by Open SMTP Relays (Unsecured E-Mail Servers), and other hosts, known to be, used by senders of Unsolicited Commercial E-Mail (a.k.a. SPAM). This software utilizes a number of publicly available lists of Spammers and the mail servers that they use and will block any e-mail coming from those locations.
Unfortunately, this system is not 100% failure-proof and occasionally a legitimate sender’s e-mail will be blocked. If your e-mail is being blocked by our software, please contact your Windy City Wire sales representative and notify him/her of this fact and the rep will ensure that your e-mail address or company’s domain name is “white listed” so that future e-mails will be received properly by our e-mail server.
As a last resort we have configured a special e-mail address, which will ALWAYS accept e-mail, even from those whose e-mail is otherwise blocked. You may write to this special e-mail address and request that your e-mail address or domain be explicitly excluded from our SPAM-Blocking filter. Please attach/forward a copy of the e-mail you received from our server indicating that your e-mail was blocked. That special e-mail address is: spamblockfree@smartwire.com
